The white panther is the common name for a number of species of the genus Panthera. The term panther is used in North America to refer to the puma, in South America is used to refer to the Jaguar and the rest of the world is used to refer to Leopard. Therefore the term used to refer to white puma, the jaguar or leopard blank white. Among these the most common appears to be the leopard, yet it is extremely rare.
The White Panthers may be the result of albinism, leucismo or chinchilla mutation. It is a mistake to consider that the term 'panther' refers only to individuals melanĂsticos which are commonly called black panthers.
