A baby died in southern Louisiana United States after having been bitten hundreds of times a rat in his crib, while another lost two toes after suffering repeated attacks by rodents in northern Ohio.
Three people were indicted for endangering the life of a child after an investigation determined that the baby of six weeks in Ohio, had been bitten repeatedly by rats over a long period, said sheriff's department in the county of Pike.
In contrast, in Louisiana there were no indictments in the case of the small three months to be bled to death last week due to hundreds of bites from rats, reported the New Orleans Times-Picayune.
The father of the little victim was found crying on the outside of his home by the medical team that arrived on the scene. The parents of the baby told the police not heard mourn his little daughter when she was attacked by rodents while sleeping nap.
