The corridors of the University Complutense of Madrid are filled today (and tomorrow they will) of questions from young hopefuls to be video game programmers. Who might be subsidized? How could I distribute my game? What platform is welcome? Are some of the doubts that have emerged from the mouths of over 200 candidates, including two days of the event, will bring to chat with all the guest speakers.
"The event serves a real need for those who want to devote to creating games professionally tend to be very disoriented," says Pedro Gonzalez, director of the Master of the gaming and IDEAM UCM. "We are convinced that among the 200 people who have registered there is a very high percentage of great ideas, but many do not know how to make them reality," said Gonzalez.
Among the entrepreneurs who have managed to overcome global economic crisis (and the sector of video games in particular) using the creativity and will make presentations at IDEAM is Elizabeth England, Senior Designer 5th Cell, developer studio Scribblenauts , a title that has had a ridiculous budget, but that has to be regarded as the revelation of the game last E3, above far better known titles.
The designer will be accompanied by Yashiro Scribblenauts Kimura, designer Little King's Story and No More Heroes; Abylight Barcelona with All Fish'em; Enjoy Up to Chronos Twin DX; Valencians Akanoi with Zombie Panic in Wonderland and MadrileƱos Over the Top Games and Pyro Studios with NYX Quest: Kindred Spirits and Planet 51, respectively; Rodino Games makers, authors and deBlob Swords and Soldiers, the founder of Press Play Danish study, thanks to public funds it had able to subsidize its video game Max and the Magic Maker ...
A very interesting initiative, created to promote development in Spain, a country that goes into the queue of creation, even if consumption in the 4th and 6th in Europe in the world.
